CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION NO. 90-147 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PLACEMENT OF A CITY COUNCIL SPONSORED INITIATIVE PROPOSING A GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT REGARDING THE PI.EASANTON RIDGELANDS ON THENOVEMBER 6, 1990 MUNICIPAL ELECTION, DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE AN IMPARTIAL ANALYSIS OF THE INITIATIVE, AUTHORIZING ARGUMENTS FOR THE INITIATIVE MEASURE, AND ALLOWINGREBUTTAL ARGUMENTS REGARDING THE INITIATIVE MEASURE WHEREAS, Section 4017 of the Elections Code permits the City Council to submit to the voters, without a petition therefor, a proposition for the repeal, amendment or enactment of an ordinance; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered an Initiative Ordinance attached to this Resolution; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this Initiative conflicts with the Initiative qualified for the November 6, 1990 ballot by the Save Pleasanton Ridgelands Committee; and WHEREAS, Section 5011 of the Election Code specifies that the City Council may direct the City Clerk to transmit a copy of the initiative to the City Attorney to prepare an impartial analysis of the measure; and WHEREAS, Section 5013 of the Elections Code specifies that the legislative body, or any member or members of the legislative body authorized by that body, may file a written argument for any city measure; and WHEREAS, Section 5014.5 of the Elections Code sets forth the procedures for rebuttal arguments. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the City Council sponsored initiative proposing that the General Plan of the City of Pleasanton be amended regarding the Pleasanton Ridgelands be placed on the ballot for the November 6, 1990 General Municipal Election, a copy of which Initiative Ordinance is attached to this resolution. The measure shall be designated by letter of the County of Alameda.
