VaHeyCare Health System <br />Community Benefit Report FY 2005-2006 <br />ADDRESSING THE HEALTHCARE NEEDS IN THE' LQCAL SCHOQLS <br />To address the growing needs of primary care in the schools, ValleyGare hired a public <br />health nurse in August 2005. ValleyGare is in the process of assessing the future <br />needs and priorities in the local school districts in order to best utilize the public health <br />nurse's time and resources. <br />VaHeyCare has continued to meet its mission by assuming the leadership role for the <br />health of the communities of the Tri-Valley. ValleyGare not only provides for fhe <br />immediate health needs, but also the health status and future planning to provide all of <br />the professional healthcare needs as they arise for our community in the Tri-Valley. <br />The Mobile Health Clinic will provide ValleyGare with an opportunity to meet the <br />organizafionat mission of assuming the leadership rote for the health of the community <br />by developing and implementing a mobile health care program with a goal to serve the <br />uninsured, underinsured in an effort to improve the community health. The mobile unit is <br />39 feet long with 2 examination rooms and is designed according to the community <br />needs meeting alt the requirements necessary for serving the public (OSHA, ADA, etc). <br />The Rotarian Foundation of trwermore has generously agreed to fund the purchase of <br />the unit. The Mobile Health Clinic unit has been ordered and delivery is expected in <br />March 2007. Since the Mobile Health Clinic is the only mobile unit in the Tri-Valley area, <br />it can be used as an emergency management and response unit in the event a€ a <br />disaster. <br />13 <br />
