Jere V~'a~mer read a statement indicating that AI Spotorno is not obligated to put in a <br />bypass road. but the City and builder are obligated. He further expressed that .~11 <br />Spotorno wants 79 houses built in order to become a nuihi-millionaire. Greenbriar will <br />make millions at the expense of Happy Valley. Jerr~° stated that the IIapp~ Vallee <br />residents don't need to trade houses for a bypass road. <br />Mrs. Spotorno responded to Jerry V~'agner's comments. She indicated that the Spotorno <br />ranch is one of the last four ranches in the Cite of Pleasanton and has been in their family <br />since 1867. It is a continuin~~ commercial operation. She asked ~~ho ~~~ill compensate <br />them for the land by the bypass road except the housin~~. She added for Jerry Vv'a~n~r to <br />say the Spotorno's ~~~ill he multi-millionaires as a result of the pr~iject is an insult. <br />F. Matters Before the Committee <br />1. AI <br />Spotorno indicated there ~'as another hottinger route that ~a~as impossible to build <br />because they could not bridge the canyon. Bob iv-4aund requested that the committee <br />be provided a layout of the alternatives with pros and cons of each for the next <br />meeting. Gene Jordon suggested that maybe it's nut necessary to go hack at all and <br />just mop°c lbr~~a~ard. :1 brief discussion of each alignment was lead b~ Mike Tassano. <br />In response to questions about whether other bypass mad ali<mments ~~crc studied. <br />Lorie shared that she found a staff report from ,(anuar~ ?l)O~ that asked the Cow~cil to <br />appro~ e a contact ~~ith a consultant to conduct Ceasibilit~ sn~dy of several bypass <br />road alignment options. Ilowcyer_ at that time the C ouncil decided to only ibcus on <br />Option 1. the bypass road on the upper portion of the Spotornos~ property. since this <br />~~as the most viable and wider accepted alternative.
