Principal Planner <br />City of Pleasanton <br />~00 OId Bernal Avenue <br />Pleasanton, CA 9-1566 <br />RF.: PRZ-37, Schools, Tutoring, and Recreation Facilities Code Amendment <br />Dear Ms. Decker, <br />Tlus letter is in regard to the Planning Commission's consideration of amendments to <br />Chapter 18 of the Pleasanton Municipal Code to allow schools and tutoring and <br />recreational facilities ~~~ithin a wider range of zoning categories, while authorizing city <br />staff to issue vv er-the-counter appro~~als for businesses that rneet certain criteria. <br />Pleasanton's business community is comprised primarily of small- and medium-size <br />businesses. and we encourage the Commission to change city code in order to lessen the <br />cost and time impacts on small business owners. The Pleasanton Chamber is represented <br />on a task t~~rce assigned to streamlining the city's dc~elopment review and approval <br />process, demonstrating the importance of this matter to the Chamber and its member <br />businesses. <br />We understand that certain small businesses this amendment is intended to help are <br />required to follow the "Conditional (/'se Permit" process, ~~~hich can take up to ?months <br />and requires Planning Commission appro~~al.
