Without the Stoneridge Drive extension, Valley Avenue carries more than
three and a half times as much traffic as Stoneridge Drive in the p.m. (3,890 trips vs.
1,060 trips); with the Stoneridge Drive extension, the two streets carry approximately
similar volumes (3,340 vs. 3,370).

Changes in traffic flow patterns for the Preferred Land Use Plan are summarized in
Attachments 15 and 16. The a.m. flow map shows increases in volume on Stoneridge
Drive moving into the Hacienda Business Park. These vehicles were previously using
EI Charro Road, Busch Road, Valley Avenue, Santa Rita, and Hacienda Drive. The
p.m. flow map shows an increase in 1-680 northbound freeway traffic. These vehicles
were previously entering Pleasanton at Sunol Boulevard. The most significant increase
in traffic comes from the Hacienda Business Park where vehicles are now using West
Las Positas and Stoneridge Drive instead of Hacienda Drive, Santa Rita Road, Valley
Avenue, Busch Road Stanley Boulevard and EI Charro Road.

The p.m. flow map appears to significantly reduce or shift the cut-through traffic by
showing a decrease in traffic on Sunol Boulevard and an increase on 1-680 and
Stoneridge Drive. These flow maps, however, do not show a complete picture
regarding cut-through traffic. The map shows the change in traffic flow, but the map
does not clearly indicate the volume beginning and ending outside of Pleasanton. Many
of these trips along the red and green lines start or end (or both start and end) within
