If an employee who has completed his/her regular work day is <br />called back to work (from home), he/she shall upon reporting in a <br />reasonable time after notification, be compensated for all work <br />performed outside of his/her regular duty shift at the overtime <br />rate, commencing with the time of notification, but in no event <br />shall he/she receive less than two (2) hours of overtime <br />compensation for each such separate call back incident. <br /> <br />Employees may be compensated for overtime worked either by <br />monetary payment or by compensatory time off, at the option of <br />the employee. Compensatory time shall accrue at the rate of one <br />and one-half (1-1/2) times the overtime hours worked. <br />Compensatory time off which accrues in excess of forty (40) hours <br />must be liquidated by monetary payment. All monetary payments <br />for overtime must be paid not later than the next biweekly <br />payroll following the pay period in which the overtime was <br />worked. Utilization of compensatory time off shall be by mutual <br />agreement between the Department Head and the employee. Upon <br />termination, the employee shall be paid for his/her unused <br />compensatory time. Overtime shall not be assigned on the basis <br />of employee's choice of monetary payment or compensatory time <br />off. <br /> <br />Once per year, employees may be paid for all accrued compensatory <br />time. Said payments shall be made on the first pay day in <br />December. Written requests for payment must be made by the <br />employee fifteen (15) days in advance of the first pay day in <br />December. <br /> <br />Section 8. Shift Differential <br /> <br />Sewage Treatment Plant employees who are assigned to and are <br />working a daily tour of duty which starts between 3:00 P.M. and <br />1:00 A.M., shall be paid thirty cents (.30) per hour in addition <br />to their base rate for all hours worked during such shift. <br /> <br />Section 9. Standby Time <br /> <br />Standby time is that amount of specific and predetermined time <br />that an employee is required to be on call in addition to the <br />normal work day and shall be compensated at a rate of pay equal <br />to twenty (20) hours of pay for each seven (7) day period spent <br />on standby. The hours of daily standby duty for water division <br />employees shall be 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The daily hours of <br />standby duty for sewage treatment/sanitary sewer employees shall <br />be 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. The requirement that employees in the <br />classification of water system operators and sanitary system <br />operators work standby shall be set forth in the job descriptions <br />of such classifications. <br /> <br />- 13 - <br /> <br /> <br />
