The purpose of this letter is to provide information to the Community Monitor Committee (CMC) to assist in decisions regarding the future direction and interests of the CMC. According to the Settlement Agreement, WMAC is to "fund a Community Monitor ... to monitor the ALRRF's compliance with environmental laws and regulations.. and to advise the public and the Cities of Livermore and Pleasanton about environmental and technical issues relating to the operation of the ALRRF." There is no provision in the Settlement Agreement for sunsetting the Community Monitor Committee or the Commmtity Monitor. Techlaw has fulfilled the role of Community Monitor, retained and supervised by the CMC, since March of 2005.
