Pimlico Drive Turnout ford Pipeline Project Enviromnental Checklist

Less u,an
Potentially Significmt Less than

Is$ne$ Significant
Im act With ~li[igation
Inver orated Significant
Im act No
Im act
c) Directly or indirectly destroy a unique X
paleontological resource or site or unique geologic
feature`?
d) Disturb any human remains, including those ^ ^ ^X ^
interred outside of formal cemeteries?
Discussion
a and b) Less than Significant. There are no known archaeological or historical sites
identified in the project area. There is a moderate possibility that previously undiscovered
subsurface resources are present. Prehistoric resources may include chert or obsidian
flakes or tools, projectile points, mortars and pestles, ground stone artifacts, deposits of
shell, dietary bone, locally darkened midden (dark friable soil containing shell and bone
dietary debris), heat-affected rock or human burials. Historic resources may include;
stone or adobe foundations or walls, structures and remains with square nails, and refuse
deposits, found often in old wells and privies.
Project Measure CUL-l: Protection or Recovery of Data will be implemented as part of
the project to minimize potential adverse impacts to unknown cultural/archeological or
historic resources during construction. This would be ales-than-significant impact with
implementation of Project Measure CUL-1.
c) Less than Significant. No known unique paleontological resources or site or unique
geologic features are known to occur within the project area (City of Pleasanton 1996).
Therefore, this would be less than significant.
d) Less than Signiticant. No Native American burial sites are known to occur in the
project area. However, Project Measure CUL-2: Prehistoric Human Remains addresses
procedures that will be implemented in the event that human remains are discovered
during construction. The potential for encountering and disturbing human remains will
be reduced to ales-than-significant level with implementation of Project Measure CUL-
2.
City of Pleasanton 26 Winzler & Kelly
Draft Initial Study/Proposed Negative Declaration August 2006
04263501
