The Resident Engineer will provide the Contractor with written comments, in the form of questions, on proposed schedule revisions, as necessary. In no case, however, will the Resident Engineer duect the Contractor how to do his work, It will be understood that the Contractor is free to execute his chosen schedule as long as the performance of the work and the quality of the results are in conformance with the intent of the provisions of the contract documents. COMPENSATION Based on the tasks/duties outlined in the City's Request for Proposal, dated February 7, 2007, Tetra Tech has refined its original time-and-materials fee estimate (previously conveyed to City staff) and presents a compensation schedule in Tuble 1-2 that reflects a significant cost-savings to the City. The opportunity to reduce costs is predicated on our proposal to utilize the same Construction Management Team currently performing similar duties for the City at the neighboring Vineyard Reservoir project site. The close proximity of this assignment will enable our full-time, on-site inspector to effectively coordinate, inspect and monitor the activities ofboth construction contractors concurrently, achieving man-power efficiencies and minimizing start-up costs. With an established and operating construction office (lower overhead expenses), qualified inspector on site (no staff training necessary), and hands-on knowledge of the City's construction standards and procedures (close working relationship with City staff, Tetra Tech is in the enviable position of reducing its project costs and passing the savings on to the City! If selected as your consultant, we are prepared to negotiate in good faith to the mutual benefit of the City and Tetra Tech specific to the final scope of work, Project Team composition, completion schedule, and compensation for the desired construction management and inspection services. !
