~~
t~l~r~1 f{i~~. 1°~{_ll I'~
The following schematic illustrates Tetra Tech's three-phased approach to providing the requisite
construction services. This chart graphically depicts all of the integrated services that we will provide
throughout the duration of construction. By having Tetra Tech serve the City as a single source of
responsibility, the construction management activities will be well coordinated and proceed expeditiously.
The successful delivery of these services will require us to focus on several key issues, as briefly outlined
below.
Communication
' Our Construction Manager and staff will serve as agents and team members of
the City by maintaining regular communication with the City's representative,
surrounding community, and construction contractor. As indicated previously,
Bijan Daneshmand, as Construction Manager, will be the single point of
contact for all elements of project status. He will conduct regularly scheduled
project meetings, maintain project documentation files, submittal logs,l3FI
logs, and coordinate field inspection and office engineering staff. Mr.
Daneshmand will be able to quickly and accurately up-date City statfon
~ project status and issues at any time during the project.
Construction Procedures Manual
One of the keys to Tetra Tech's success on similar projects is the preparation of a Construction Procedures
Manual for all construction management assignments. The manual describes management and
administration procedures, such as lines of communication, submittals, project forms to be used,
inspection and testing requirements, permits, etc. The manual also desen'bes how all parties will interact
on the project and provides the contractor with a guideline to follow to simplify submittal and coordination
efforts.
Responsiveness to Contractor
Key to avoiding unnecessary contractor claims and schedule delays is our timely response to contractor
inquiries and execution of the submittal process. Our Construction Manager will be a direct link between
the contractor, City, and design engineer. Continuous, open communication and strict adherence to the
Construction Procedures Manual will help to avoid disputes and schedule delays.
Our Construction Manager will work diligently to complete the assigned project without any unresolved
claims. Contractor issues and disputes will be addressed and resolved as they occur.
schedule f~ontroi antl Tracking
More than simply reviewing contractor schedules, we will work with the contractor to keep ahead of the
issues that may tend to delay the project. Potential delays may include obtaining permits, interfacing with
the City and local conununity, soil and materials testing, preparing operation and maintenance manuals,
meeting start-up and testing requirements, and completing final punch list items and record drawings. Our
experience has taught us that final testing and closeout items often can delay project completion. A
number of items can be utilized to help avoid delays, such as:
TETRA T[CH tNC
l It)~ ~. ~t (~~Y,4 S;i ~l ~')li ~ nll Ultit ~itill P`t I(1.1~~ ~lil ~`fIY Cr~i'/Itt];
