EXHIBIT A
d
~.°,.,~ ? F'Itt9~t°:~:,"~' Lj~1~)FRSTAN[~IN~ ANI~ APF'R~J~~.~-~
etra Tech, Inc. is pleased to submit this proposal to the City of Pleasanton (City) to provide
Construction Management ,Services for the Vineyard Avenue Corridor Water Booster Station
project (VCPS). We are prepared to assign a highly experienced Construction Management Team
with the technical expertise specific to this assignment. As this presentation demonstrates, our team
possesses the necessary resources to quickly respond to the City's needs throughout the construction of the
new water booster station.
PROJECT LINUERSTANDWG
It is the desire of the City to engage the services of a qualified consulting firm to provide comprehensive
construction management services during the construction of the new 6,000 gpm (ultimate capacity) pump
station to be located adjacent to the Livermore Pleasanton Fire Department Station No. 5 just off of
Vineyard Avenue in the eastern portion of the City. The facilities to be constructed will include, in
general, a concrete masonry block building with a diesel generator room, pump and electrical control
room, equipment bay, and 17uoride tank storage and pump room. The four-room pump station building
with a planned metal truss roofing system and file roof will house three main pumps and pump cans,
discharge and drainage piping, valves and valve vaults, an emergency generator, and a fluoride injection
system Site improvements will involve considerable drainage, suction and discharge piping and electrical
conduits/conductors to connect the pump station to existing utilities. An exterior diesel fuel tank and
pumping system will be constructed on the one-acre site.
The selected consultant will act as the City's agent, under the supervision of the City's representative(s),
on matters pertaining to communications with the construction contractor (JMB Construction, lnc.), City's
design consultant (Garber Engineering), as well as other project stakeholders and City consultants. The
selected consultant will also provide general inspection services and coordinate specialty inspection
services. Construction is scheduled to commence March 15, with completion set for March 2008.
It is fiuther our understanding that the City wilt provide material and geotechnical testing, construction
staking, and specialty inspections by retaining other consultants to perform said work. Therefore,
geotechnical services, surveying, and specialty inspection services are not a part of our scope of work..
APPROACH
As Design Engineer and Construction Manager for the neighboring Vineyard Hills I.5-MG Reservoir,
scheduled for completion in November 2007, Tetra Tech is currently on-site and intimately familiar with
the construction requirements essential for the successful, timely completion of this project. Thus, if
selected as your construction management consultant, we are prepared to "hit the ground running" and
effectively begin construction activities without delay!
More specifically, Tetra Tech's approach to managing the construction phase of the VCPS project is to
provide the City with an integrated project approach that combines all construction management activities
under the direction and supervision of the construction manager. Bijan Daneshmand, our assigned
Construction Manager, will be charged with overseeing and coordinating all office administration and
field inspection activity. By providing all construction management and administration services under the
direction of a single Construction Manager, we can provide a seamless, well-organized project with a
single point of control.
Tf"f kA TECH 1NC.
(,lIy of 1'I~°:~SalrtnJi (.rai~nli~ iii„~ ititan.t~I:°nirn~ `.~, -_ _ _. .. _ _-__
