• On your right, enter the second access gate to Tassajara Creek (east side of the Creek).
• Proceed south on Tassajara Creek for approximately .29 miles.
• Exit Tassajara Creek at Stoneridge Drive (north side of the street).
• Proceed east on Stoneridge Drive for approximately .46 miles to Arroyo Mocho Trail (currently
there is no access to the Trail.)
• Proceed east on Arroyo Mocho Trail for approximately .15 miles to Trail Gate 13 (at the
southwest corner of Santa Rita Road and the Arroyo Mocho).
• Exit Gate 13, walk/ride up the ramp to the sidewalk at Santa Rita Road, turn left at the sidewalk,
and proceed south on Santa Rita Road for approximately .1 mile to Stoneridge Drive.
• Cross the street and continue south on Santa Rita Road for approximately .15 miles to the
entrance of the Iron Horse Trail on the left side, near the Public Storage facility.
Attachment 1 provides additional information regarding Option 2.
Option 3 - Alignment Along the Alameda County Transportation Corridor: At the January 30,
2006 meeting, Jim Townsend informed the Committee of EBRPD's desire to align the trail along the
Transportation Corridor. Generally, this route would proceed as follows (all mid -block crossings
mentioned do not currently exist):
• Begin at Dublin - Pleasanton BART Station. Proceed southeast, through the parking lot, and cross
Owens Drive at a mid -block crossing.
• Proceed southeast along the right -of -way through the Oracle property to Hacienda Drive.
• Cross another mid -block crossing, continue along the right -of -way, following a sidewalk path
adjacent to a residential development.
• Continue along the right -of -way /sidewalk path (crossing over Tassajara Creek) to Creekside
Park.
• Follow the right -of -way /pathway through Creekside Park to West Las Positas Boulevard.
• Cross another mid -block crossing, and continue along the right -of -way through the Springhouse
Apartments complex to the north side of the Arroyo Mocho. Cross a new bridge over the Arroyo
Mocho to Stoneridge Drive.
• Cross another mid -block crossing, then proceed along the right -of -way through the Zone 7 Water
Agency pump station facility to Santa Rita Road.
• Cross another mid -block crossing to reach the trail on the east side.
Quickest Implementation: It appears that Option 1 might offer the shortest time period in which to
implement the route. Design, interagency use permits /licensing, community review, construction, and
similar requirements do not appear to be major factors with implementation.
Proximity to Traffic: All options have a measure of proximity to traffic. While Options 1 and 2 follow
traffic lanes to some extent, Option 3 would have five (5) mid -block crossings. The latter would have
considerable impacts to overall traffic movements in the area.
Costs: Costs cannot be specifically determined at this time; however, it appears that Option 1 might
represent the least cost.
Interagency Coordination: All options require a certain amount of coordination between the City,
EBRPD, and Zone 7.
