CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON

ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION NO. 90-13

RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE ENVIRONMENTAL
IMPACT REPORT FOR THE BART
DUBLIN/PLF.~SANTON EXTENSION PROJECT

WHEREAS,

the Final Environmental Impact Report for the BART
Dublin/Pleasanton Extension Project has been
completed; and

WHEREAS,

this document provides responses to written and
verbal comments received on the draft environmental
impact report (DEIR), and a summary of mitigation
measures for adverse impacts; and

WHEREAS,

on February 8, 1990, the BART Board is expected to
approve the Final EIR, select a project, approve a
Mitigation Monitoring Plan, and authorize the
development of Memoranda of Understanding with
local jurisdictions for implementation of
mitigation measures.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1: Supports the three-station extension which
reiterates the Council's previous position and is
consistent with the DEIR's identification of
Alternative 2 as the environmentally superior
'alternative, and supports parking on the north and
south sides of 1-580 at the East Dublin/Pleasanton
station in order to better serve Pleasanton
residents and facilitate coordination with local
transit services.

Section 2: If BART adopts a two-station extension, Council
recommends BART approve the three-station concept
and construct the Castro Valley and East
Dublin/Pleasanton stations (Alternative 3) as a
part of this project, and requests BART to continue
working with local public and private sectors to
identify funding mechanisms for the future
construction of the West Dublin/Pleasanton
station.
