John Miller Architects, Saint Elizabeth Seton Church
Tree Report, June 2006

HortScience, Inc.
Page 5

Evaluation of Impacts
The Tree Survey Form was the reference point for tree health and condition. I referred to
the Site Plan prepared by John Miller Architects (12/21/05) to assess the impacts to trees
from the proposed changes.

The plan proposes to build a new activity center in what is currently the open field. Some of
the parking stalls adjacent to the new activity center would be re-configured, and others
would be eliminated to accommodate a droJHlff area.

Grading of the site and installation of a new storm drain and walkways would require removal
of 11 of the 12 surveyed trees. These are trees #171-181. Among the trees recommended
for removal is "Heritage" tree #181, which was in poor condition.

A new storm drain line is proposed approximately 60' east of tree #182. Trenching for the
new storm drain line is considered within the tolerance of the tree and, based on the current
plans, it can be preserved.

In summary, the current plan requires the removal of 11 trees, and allows for the preservation
of one (1) tree. One (1) of the "Heritage" trees would be removed (#181), and one (1) would
be preserved (#182). Table 3 provides a list of trees recommended for preservation and
removal, along with their 'Heritage' status.

Table 3: Recommendations for Action.

Tree Species
No.

Trunk 'Heritage'?
