Approve the contract with BKF to provide necessary engineering
services in the amount of $79,879 for the subject project.

2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached subject contract.

Staff is requesting authorization for the City Manager to execute a
contract with BKF to provide an operational assessment of the existing S-
6 wastewater pumping station (relative to keeping it in operation for the
next 2-3 years), along with preliminary design services for a replacement
pump station. Sanitary Sewer Pump Station S-6 is in poor condition with
capacity problems and in need of immediate replacement. Due to the
nature of this type of facility, a consulting fIrm is necessary to perform
the specialized renovation analysis and design work required. BKF was
selected as the most qualifIed fIrm to perform this work, after an
evaluation of project proposals from three fIrms. BKF has agreed to
perform this work for a not-to-exceed amount of $79,879. This project is
funded by Sewer Improvement funds.
