Ex~IBIT ~

DOWNTOWN REVITALIZ/~TION PLaN
CITY COUNCIL POLICIES

Main Street Infrastructure Improvements

me

Downtown infrastructure improvements should occur in a
quick, continuous manner with the least disruption possible
to merchants.

In order to minimize the impacts of the Main Street
reconstruction project, establish an aggressive advertising
plan before and during Downtown renovation.

Establish temporary parking lots prior to the commencement
of Main Street improvements.

Circulation

4. Retain the Ray Street/St. John Street realignment in the
plan as a future option.

5. Retain the Railroad Avenue Extension in the plan as a future
option.

6. Approve the Main Street construction schedule.

7. Eliminate the left turn lanes into the Cheese Factory and
Pleasanton Hotel driveway next to the Arroyo to create a
longer left turn lane from southbound Main Street onto Ray
Street.

8. Provide two-way access to the Pleasanton Hotel parking lot
at St. John Street with one access onto Main Street adjacent
to the Arroyo.

9. Provide a four-way stop on a trial basis with blinking red
lights at the Main Street/Rose Avenue intersection.

10. Relocate buses off Main Street so long as service to
Downtown is not reduced.

11. Restripe SPring Street for two-way traffic, thus completing
a partial loop system, retaining on-street parking on the
north side of the street.
