III. Scope <br />A. This plan outlines procedures for dealing with a number <br />of possible emergencies such as, (a) natural emergencies, <br />(b) nuclear emergencies and (c) civil disorders. The <br />plan is general in nature and provides a framework for <br />action for a variety of emergencies. <br />Imo. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF 1PATER BYSTEIK <br />Service Area <br />The City of Pleasanton service area covers approximately 16 square <br />miles. The service area is bounded on the north by the City of <br />Dublin, on the east by the City of Livermore, and the Pleasanton <br />hills on the west and south. The pop'.. stion of the City is <br />approximately 52,500 people. <br />Average Daily_Demand <br />During normal weather conditions the average daily demand is <br />approximately 13.2 million gallons per day (13.2 MGD) with <br />approximately 10 MGD being delivered by Zone 7 and the remaining <br />3.2 MGD coming from the City's wells. <br />Water Sources <br />Maximum <br />Source Production Facility Production <br />1. Surface Water Patterson Pass, Del 15 MGD <br />Valle Treatment Plants, <br />and Zone 7 groundwater wells <br />Storage Facilities <br />Treated water is currently stored in twelve tanks and reservoirs <br />with a total storage capacity of 23.4 million gallons. This <br />represents approximately one day average consumption (13.2 million <br />gallons), while reserving capacity for fire and operation storage. <br />Pressure Zones <br />The City has 8 major water pressure zones, designated as follows: <br />Lower Zone, Foothill Zone, Bonde Zone, Kottinger A Zone, 770 <br />Zone, Kilkare Zone, Canyon Meadows and Grey Eagle. <br />2 <br />
