PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. PC-89-111
RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE UP-89-57, THE APPLICATION FOR
A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
WHEREAS, SpeeDee Oil Change and Tune-Up/Dean Hammer/Carl Nelson
have applied for rezoning and a conditional use permit
to operate an automobile oil change and preventive
maintenance service facility to be located on an
approximately 0.56 acre site at 44 Mission Drive; and
WHEREAS, at its meeting of December 13, 1989, the Planning
Commission approved a negative declaration for Case
UP-89-57 after considering all public testimony,
relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the City
staff concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the use described herein is a "service
station;" and
B. That the proposed location of the conditional use is
in accordance with the objectives of the zoning
ordinance and the purpose of the district in which
the site is located.
This particular use should result in less impacts on
adjacent uses than that normally associated with
automobile-related uses. Pedestrian traffic
associated with the use should be low and although
there is a mixture of residential, office, and
retail commercial uses in the vicinity, the business
will complement these uses and also meet the
objectives of the zoning ordinance and the district
purposes.
C. That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, or welfare, or materially injurious
to the properties or improvements in the vicinity.
