POLICY FOR THE USE OF THE <br />MAIN STREET STRUCTURE FOR HANGING A BANNER <br />General <br />1. The construction of the banner shall meet the specifications <br />as determined by the Director of Parks and Community Services. <br />The specifications shall include the size of banner that can <br />be accommodated, and construction and material guidelines. <br />The specifications shall be clearly printed on the Application <br />to Hang a Banner on the Main Street Structure. Should a <br />banner not reasonably meet the specifications, it will not be <br />hung. <br />2. The wording on the banner shall be kept short and easily <br />readable. <br />3. Banners will be limited to hanging a maximum of one week <br />except for special circumstances. Banners to be hung are to <br />be delivered by the date noted on an approved application. <br />4. The Department of Parks and Community Services shall be <br />responsible for receiving applications for use of the Main <br />Street banner site and for administering the program. <br />5. Priority of Use <br />A. The use of the Main Street sign structure for banners <br />will primarily be reserved for Pleasanton civic events <br />and nonprofit organizations use for events held in <br />Pleasanton. <br />B. The Main Street sign structure for banners will not be <br />used for commercial purposes. (Banner acknowledging or <br />welcoming large conventions or commercial groups to <br />Pleasanton is not considered commercial.) <br />C. Priority for use will be controlled by allowing higher <br />priority users to book further in advance. Once a <br />reservation has been established, a higher priority user <br />may not "bump" a lower priority user. <br />
