PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. PC-89-90
RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE Z-89-625, THE APPLICATION AND
APPEAL OF DIANE MOIRAO
WHEREAS, Diane Moirao has appealed a decision of the Zoning
Administrator denying approval to allow the applicant to
conduct a seamstress business in her home located at 315
East Angela Street; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is R-1-6500 (Single-family
Residential) District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of October 11,
1989, the Planning Commission considered all public
testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the
City staff concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the proposed location of the home occupation
is in accordance with the objectives of the Zoning
Ordinance and the purposes of the district in which
the site is located.
The site is on the corner of Third and Angela
Streets in an area zoned R-1-6500 (Single-family
Residential) District. The intent of this zone is
to provide for the orderly and secure establishment
of private residences. Home occupation permits are
granted to allow the conduct of those types of
occupations which traditionally take place in
residences without charging the character of the
neighborhood. The alteration and mending of
clothing can be subordinate to households and does
not introduce machinery or processes that are not
typical of a home.
B. That the proposed conditional use will comply with
each of the applicable provisions of the Zoning
Ordinance.
The Planning Commission finds that the proposed
conditional use will comply with each of the
applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance as by
condition of approval the Planning Commission
modifies Condition B and I of Section 18.104.030 to
provide that 1.5 deliveries per day can be made to
the site by someone other than the permittee, and
