PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION N0. PC-gg_gQ <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR <br />CALIFORNIA FEDERAL BANK AS FILED UNDER CASE UP-89-80 <br />WHEREAS, California Federal Bank has applied for a con ' <br />use permit to operate a financial institutiondandonal <br />related facilities on the property located at 4811 <br />Hopyard Road; and <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development) -Industrial, Commercial and Offices <br />District; and <br />WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of Se temb <br />1989, the Planning Commission considered all public3~ <br />testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of th <br />City staff concerning this application; and e <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the followin fin ' <br />g dings: <br />A• That the proposed location of the conditional use <br />is in accordance with the objectives of the zonin <br />ordinance and the purpose of the district in which <br />the site is located. <br />One of the objectives of the zoning ordinance is to <br />promote commercial and industrial activities in <br />order to strengthen the city's tax base. The <br />proposed use is a commercial activity that will add <br />to the economic vitality of the city and the area. <br />The subject site is zoned PUD Industrial, <br />Commercial and Offices District. According to the <br />Hacienda Business Park Development Plan, the site <br />is a commercial planning district. This zone <br />allows the same permitted and conditional uses as <br />those i the C-C (Central Commercial and C-F <br />(Freeway Commercial) Districts. <br />purposes of these districts is to0providehe common <br />appropriately located areas for retail stores, <br />service establishments, and offices, for the <br />convenience of the public and for their mutual <br />benefit. The conditional use permit will allow the <br />proposed bank to located within a planned <br />commercial area which will accomplish this purpose. <br />The proposed banking operation, therefore, will be <br />consistent with this required finding. <br />
