PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION N0. PC-89-75 RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE UP-89-43, APPLICATION OF GARDEN-WEST WHEREAS, Carden-West has applied for a conditional use permit for the Carden-West School to operate a kindergarten through third grade elementary school with extended day care facility within an existing building located at 4444 Black Avenue; and WHEREAS, zoning for the property is "P" (Public and Institutional) District; and WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of August 23, 1989, the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the City staff concerning this application; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings: A. That the proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with the objectives of Chapter 18 and the purposes of the district in which the site is located. The site is on Black Avenue in an area zoned "P" (Public and Institutional) District. The intent of this zone is to provide for the orderly establishments of public and quasi-public institutional uses. The Carden-West School provides the only private non-parochial school in the Pleasanton area. B. That the proposed conditional use will comply with each of the applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance. The conditional use will comply with all applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 18 of the Municipal Code regarding parking and use. C. That the proposed location of the conditional use and the conditions under which it would be operated or maintained will not be detrimental the public health, safety or welfare, or materially injurious to the properties or improvements in the vicinity;
