PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION N0. PC-89-74 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE UP-89-31, APPLICATION OF <br />PRUDENTIAL INSURANCE COMPANY OF AMERICA FOR A <br />CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT TO OPERATE A HELIPORT <br />WHEREAS, Prudential Insurance Company of America has applied for <br />a conditional use permit to allow the operation of a <br />heliport facility, including a landing pad, on-site <br />parking, landscaping, and related improvements on the <br />property located on the north side of Owens Drive <br />opposite its intersection with Willow Road; and <br />WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development <br />- Industrial, Commercial and Offices District; and <br />WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held August 23, 1989 <br />at which time the public was given the opportunity to <br />comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, at its meeting of August 23, 1989, the Planning <br />Commission approved the proposed negative declaration <br />for UP-89-31 after considering all public testimony, <br />relevant exhibits, and recommendations of the City staff <br />concerning this proposal; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings: <br />A. That the proposed location of the conditional use is <br />in accordance with the objectives of Chapter 18 and <br />the purposes of the district in which the site is <br />located. <br />The Hacienda Business Park Master Plan has provided <br />this site for park and ride BART <br />station/heliport/transportation center use. The <br />interim park and ride/heliport use is consistent <br />with this plan. <br />B. That the proposed location of the conditional use <br />and the conditions under which it would be operated <br />or maintained will not be detrimental the public <br />health, safety or welfare, or materially injurious <br />to the properties or improvements in the vicinity; <br />
