PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON
ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION N0. PC-89-42
RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE UP-89-11, THE APPLICATION OF
PLEASANTON COMMUNITY CHURCH
WHEREAS Pleasanton Community Church has applied fora
~ conditional use permit to expand operations of a church
with an existing office/industrial complex located at
4439 Stoneridge Drive; and
WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit
Development) - Industrial District; and
WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of April 12, 1989,
the Planning Commission considered all public testimony,
relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff
concerning this application; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings:
A. That the proposed location of the conditional use
is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning
ordinance and the purpose of the district in which
the site is located.
The proposed use is compatible with the permitted
and conditionally-permitted uses possible under the
PUD District. Churches have been included as a
conditionally-permitted use in specific Industrial
Districts where available facilities (building,
parking, etc.) would be appropriate for church
activities. These districts are designated to
accommodate activities that can be found to be
harmonious with industrial uses. The church, in
this case, is such a use.
B. That the proposed location of the conditional use
and the conditions under which it would be operated
or maintained will not be detrimental to the public
health, safety, or welfare, or materially injurious
to the properties or improvements in the vicinity.
Given the proposed hours of operation for the
Church during weekend and evening hours, this
finding can is also made. Given the nature of the
activities and concentration during the weekend and
evening hours, the expansion should not adversely
affect the operations. of other users/tenants in the
vicinity. The proposed site is adjacent to major
City streets and is in close proximity to
-1-
