PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF PLEASANTON ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION N0. PC-90-107 RESOLUTION APPROVING CASE UP-90-46, THE APPLICATION OF PACTEL PROPERTIES WHEREAS, Pactel Properties applied for a conditional use permit to allow the establishment of a single-story, freestanding bank located at the northwest corner of the Hopyard Drive/Stoneridge Drive street intersection; and WHEREAS, zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development) - Industrial, Commercial and Offices District; and WHEREAS, at their duly noticed public hearing of November 14, 1990, the Planning Commission considered all public testimony, relevant exhibits and recommendations of the City staff concerning this application; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission made the following findings: 1. That the proposed location of the conditional use is in accordance with the objectives of the zoning ordinance and the purpose of the district in which the site is located. An objective of the zoning ordinance is to promote a variety of uses within each applicable zoning district in order to broaden and strengthen the City's tax base. By allowing the establishment of the proposed banking facility, the types of uses which could be established in conjunction with the Village commercial center will be increased. Thus, the diversity of commercial activities on-site will be broadened. The proposed banking facility would be consistent with the zoning ordinance objectives which call for locating commercial activities in proximity to the demand for the convenience of the public. The proposed bank would serve residents and employees of the surrounding area, thereby increasing banking opportunities for Bank of America users. The proposal is consistent with the City's financial construction and location policy since Bank of America has a branch office downtown.
