still remains on-site the ability to park the <br />required number of cars per the Pleasanton <br />Parking Ordinance. In order to ensure that <br />both residential units have access to off- <br />street parking, a condition of Land Use Permit <br />approval has been added to ensure that the <br />occupant of the second unit has access to <br />his/her required parking space. <br />6) That the granting of the variance will not <br />create a safety hazard or any other conditions <br />inconsistent with the objectives of the zoning <br />ordinance. <br />The granting of the variance will not result <br />in health or safety concerns or inconsistency <br />with the objectives of the zoning ordinance. <br />Building and Fire Departmental personnel have <br />reviewed the proposal and have found that the <br />proposal will not result in adverse impacts to <br />health or safety considerations. Regarding <br />the consistency with the zoning ordinance, the <br />locational criteria established is intended to <br />preserve the appearance of residential uses <br />within the zoning district and to minimize the <br />visual appearance of the automobile. The <br />configuration of the parking layout was <br />established 30± years ago. Since that time <br />the City has not received any complaints <br />regarding the parking situation nor were any <br />adverse comments presented at the public <br />hearing for the subject item. Therefore, <br />based on the aforementioned, it appears that <br />the current parking configuration does not <br />impact the residential appearance of the <br />neighborhood;and <br />WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the <br />requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the proposed use is consistent with the zoning <br />designation and General Plan policies of the City of <br />Pleasanton. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br />Section 1. Approves Cases UP-90-50 and V-90-19, the applications <br />of John and Gina Tompkins for (1) a conditional use <br />permit to legalize the conversion of a two-car garage <br />into a secondary unit and (2) variance approval to allow <br />Resolution No. PC-90-99 <br />October 24, 1990 <br />
