<br />"\ <br /> <br /> <br />6A <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />pLEASANTONo <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />December 19,2006 <br />Finance Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br /> <br />PLEASANTON DOWNTOWN BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT <br />ADVISORY BOARD REPORT AND BUDGET AND LEVY OF THE <br />ASSESSMENT FOR 2007 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the Council: <br /> <br />1) Approve the Resolution (Attachment A) Accepting and Approving the <br />Report and Annual Budget of the Pleasanton Downtown Association <br />Advisory Board and Levying the Annual Assessment for 2007. <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />The PDA Advisory Board report and budget for 2007 are attached. The <br />Advisory Board is not recommending any modifications to the district <br />boundaries or to the method of levying the assessment for 2007. Adoption <br />of the budget will enact the 2007 assessment levy. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1989 (Streets & Highways Code 36350, et <br />seq.) requires the City Council to approve a three-step process in order to levy the annual <br />assessment for the PDA Business Improvement District. At the October 3, 2006 City Council <br />meeting, an advisory board was appointed to prepare the attached annual PDA report and budget <br />for 2007. <br /> <br />SR 06:286 <br />
