<br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />4K <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />December 19, 2006 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE <br />EMERGENCY REPAIRS TO THE S-6 SEWER LINE, CIP NO. <br />062026 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />SR 06:282 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of December 19, 2006: <br /> <br />1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. <br /> <br />2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the <br />subject project. <br /> <br />3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $9,331.90 to <br />Precision Engineering, Inc. thirty days after fIling the Notice of <br />Completion. <br /> <br />4. Authorize fInal payment to Precision Engineering Inc. in the amount <br />of $2,479.80. <br /> <br />Construction of the subject project is complete and ready for acceptance. <br />Last winter, it appeared that storms severely damaged the existing sewer <br />line, which runs under the Arroyo Mocho channel northerly to the <br />existing S-6 sewer pump station. Repair plans were prepared and the <br />project was bid and awarded to Precision Engineering Inc. to perform <br />repairs to the Arroyo Mocho embankment and to the sewer line crossing. <br />The work has been completed and the site winterized to handle potential <br />storm flows this season. Therefore, it is recommended that the project be <br />formally accepted by the City of Pleasanton. <br />
