6.5(2) <br /> <br />employee shall again earn sick leave at a rate of <br />eight (8.0) hours per month. <br /> <br />Be <br /> <br />No employee shall accumulate more than one <br />thousand, four hundred forty (1,440) hours of sick <br />leave except as follows: Effective October 1, <br />1990, any management and confidential employee, <br />except a police public safety management employee <br />or a fire battalion chief, may accumulate an <br />unlimited number of sick leave hours, except, <br />however, hours accumulated in excess of one <br />thousand four hundred and forty (1,440) may be used <br />only to apply toward additional years of service <br />under the current PERS "Credit for Unused Sick <br />Leave", Government Code, Section 20862.8. <br /> <br />Sick Leave &ccrual For Police Public Safety Manaqers <br /> <br />Ae <br /> <br />A police public safety management employee shall <br />during his/her first year of employment earn sick <br />leave at the rate of eight (8.0) hours for each <br />month of service. On the employee's first <br />anniversary hire date, each employee shall receive <br />three hundred eighty-four (384) hours sick leave, <br />in addition to the sick leave earned but not used <br />during probation. Upon completion of five (5) <br />years of service, each employee shall again earn <br />sick leave at a rate of eight (8.0) hours per <br />month. <br /> <br />No employee shall accumulate more than one thousand <br />four hundred forty (1,440) hours of sick leave. <br /> <br />An employee on leave of absence with pay in lieu of <br />temporary disability payments pursuant to Section <br />4850 of the Labor Code shall accumulate sick leave <br />during said leave of absence, in accordance with <br />the provisions of that section. <br /> <br />6.5(3) <br /> <br />Sick Leave Accrual For Fire Battalion Chiefs <br /> <br />A fire battalion chief shall during his/her first <br />year of employment earn sick leave at the rate of <br />eleven and two-tenths (11.2) hours for each month <br />of service. On the employee's anniversary hire <br />date, each employee shall receive five hundred <br />thirty-seven and six-tenths (537.6) hours of sick <br />leave credit, in addition to sick leave earned but <br />not used during probation.
