EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br />Policy for Submitting Applications for Funding <br />or Grants to Various Agencies, Organizations, <br />Businesses, and Indivuals <br /> <br />The Department of Parks and Community Services is constantly <br />seeking to expand and improve the leisure services and programs <br />that it provides for the citizens of Pleasanton. <br /> <br />The solicitation of funds shall be governed by the following <br />considerations. <br /> <br />1. Funding sources shall include: <br /> <br />Corporate Foundations, <br />Private Foundations, <br />Public Foundations, <br />Governmental Agencies and Grants Programs, <br />Local Businesses, <br />Local and National Service Organizations, and <br />Individuals. <br /> <br />Support may also take the form of donated in-kind <br />materials and services. <br /> <br />Se <br /> <br />Grant applications will be submitted for funds which will <br />be utilized for extraordinary expenses: <br /> <br />Capital Equipment, <br />Start-Up Expenses for New Programs, and <br />Expansion and/or Enhancement of Existing <br />Programs. <br /> <br />Department staff shall coordinate all grant <br />applications and donation solicitations so as not to <br />conflict with one another or duplicate requests. <br /> <br />Individual and business donors shall be advised to <br />consult their own accountants/attorneys as to whether or <br />not such contributions are tax deductible. <br /> <br />Requests for funding from businesses and <br />individuals shall carry the following additional <br />restrictions: <br /> <br />The Department may not grant "exclusive" rights to <br />fund any one given program. The opportunity to <br />financially support a program shall be open to all <br />businesses and individuals, and at any level of <br />support that they desire. <br /> <br /> <br />
