Para~raDh 2 to Read: <br /> <br />This Housing Element was reviewed and updated by two citizens <br />committees, City staff, and the Planning Commission prior to <br />being adopted by the City Council on October 16, 1990. This <br />updated Housing Element is based on information as of January <br />1, 1990, unless otherwise noted, and evaluates the City's <br />progress with respect to housing since the .previous element <br />was adopted in September of 1986. For a detailed discussion <br />of the City's evaluation of previous housing policies and <br />programs and an explanation of 1990 revisions, see the <br />Supplement to the Housing Element 2. For a detailed discussion of the analysis, see <br /> SuPPlement to the Housina Element-3: Preservation of Assis~ <br /> Housinu ¢15~. <br /> <br />Be <br /> <br />Amend Paue IV-15 by Addinu a new Section Under Para~raDh $ %0 <br />Read~ <br /> <br />Preservation of Assisted Housing <br /> <br />Government Code Section 65583(a)(8) requires an analysis and <br />development of programs for preserving assisted rental <br />housing units which will become eligible to change from low- <br />income to market rate housing during the next 10 years. For <br />a detailed presentation of the City's analysis see Supplement <br />to the Housing Element-3: Preservation of Assisted Housing <br />(15). Housing Element Goal 7 contains specific objectives <br />for preserving and replacing such at-risk units through the <br />year 2000. <br /> <br />As of July 1, 1990, there were 15 rental apartment complexes <br />in Pleasanton which provided a total of 858 units for low- <br />income households. Of this'total, 300 were reserved for the <br />elderly and 558 for other qualifying households. These units <br />are supported by a variety of assistance sources including: <br />HUD Section 236 funding, CHFA tax exempt bonds, non-profit <br />consortiums, City funding, and private rental agreements <br />resulting from the Grom~ch Management Program. <br /> <br />Three of these projects have been identified as being at risk <br />of losing their low-income restrictions during the year 1990 <br />to 2000 analysis period.
