Ms. Decker expressed that this was a difficult process and said that she would like to hear
comments on new information or new concerns instead of repeating the known concerns and
testimony taken.

The Georgatos' stated that their concerns have not changed.

Ms. Decker stated that the graphic picture that Mr. Shutts submitted does not reflect the existing
trees and that the majority of the windows and part of the addition on the east elevation will be
screened by those mature trees.

Mr. Shutts said that he took the picture that was presented by the Georgatos' at the last hearing,
scaled if off to where the addition would occur, and illustrated the accuracy of what the addition
would look like.

Mrs. Georgatos asked if the story poles that were previously constructed were accurate.

Mr. Shutts said that the story poles were higher than the line of site. He said that standing in
their house, the story poles represented a worse position of the addition.

Mrs. Georgatos said that the addition would extend farther than the triangle vent on the existing
house.

Ms. Decker indicated on the picture and the site plan how far over the addition would go and
stated that it was a little more than 50% of the existing house.

Mrs. Georgatos asked if it extends farther to the west and would like to see it on the picture were
the addition would stop.

Mr. Shutts said that the angle of the picture prevents seeing where the triangle vent is on the
existing roof that Mrs. Georgatos was asking about, but pointed out where he believed it was.

Mr. Shutts said that he has had a number of discussions with what could be done, such as
changing the windows in the master bedroom to have a 5' 112" to 6-foot windowsill and putting
windows on the side of the master bedroom to allow for light and ventilation with a film over the
windows. Mr. Shutts drew on the picture to show what the windowsill would look like at 6-feet.

Mrs. Georgatos said that even with the 6- foot windowsill height, they could still see on to their
property.

Mr. Shutts said that the lowest point of the window would start at 6-feet and all the applicants
would be able to see is the sky because of the difference in elevations between the two
properties.

Mr. Knight suggested that two small windows could be placed on the side elevations towards
Martha's house and the other next-door neighbor.

Ms. Decker asked if that would mitigate the Georgatos' concerns.

Minutes: PADR-1472

Page 3 of5

April 13, 2006
