Approve the attached restroom custodial services contract (Exhibit A) <br />to Consolidated Cleaning Services for restroom custodial services at <br />various City-owned public restrooms. <br /> <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the above-referenced contract. <br /> <br />The Fiscal Year 2005-07 Operating Budget for Support Services provides <br />for contract custodial services. The contract was first bid on September 8, <br />2006, with only two bids received that met the contract requirements. <br />Council, upon staffs recommendation, rejected all bids at the meeting of <br />October 3, 2006. Staff recommended the re-bidding of the project with <br />increased advertising to the local janitorial market in order to increase the <br />response from bidders and obtain a more competitive bid. The project was <br />re-bid on October 20, 2006, with six bids received. Consolidated Cleaning <br />Services of Oakland, California, was the successful bidder at $46,740.00. A <br />complete list of City locations and services to be provided by Consolidated <br />Cleaning Services is detailed in Exhibit C. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />The Fiscal Year 2006/07 Operating Budget contains funding for private custodial contractors to <br />perform regular reoccurring custodial services for public restrooms.
