Date: <br /> <br />"You are hereby authorized and requested to deduct from wages due <br />me (and payable on every other regular pay day) such amount as <br />which will total the amount of my PCEA dues as reported to you by <br />the President of PCEA and to make such deductions for each and <br />every succeeding month unless and until I revoke this assignment in <br />writing. You are hereby authorized and you are to pay the total <br />amount deducted each month to PCEA. This assignment is voluntary. <br /> <br />2.3 <br /> <br />Signature <br /> <br />Maintenance of MembershiD <br /> <br />Ail employees in classifications listed in Section 1.0, who are <br />members of the Association, tendering periodic dues thirty (30) <br />days after the City Council of the City of Pleasanton approved this <br />Memorandum of Understanding and all employees in the aforementioned <br />unit who thereafter become members of the Association shall, as a <br />condition of employment, pay dues to the Association for the <br />duration of this Memorandum of Understanding, and each year <br />thereafter. During a period of thirty (30) days prior to May 1, <br />1990 and thirty (30) days prior to any May 1 thereafter, any <br />employee who is a member of the Association in the aforementioned <br />classifications shall have the right to withdraw from the <br />Association and discontinue dues deduction as of the earnings <br />period commencing April 1. Said withdrawal shall be communicated <br />by the employee in writing to the Director of Finance. An employee <br />who is subsequently employed in a position outside of the Unit <br />represented by the Association shall not be required to pay dues to <br />the Association. <br /> <br />Communication with Employees <br /> <br />Any representative of the PCEA shall give notice to the Department <br />Head when contacting City employees'during the duty period of the <br />employees, provided that solicitation for membership or other <br />internal employee organization business shall be conducted only <br />during the off-duty hours of all employees concerned. <br />Prearrangements for routine contact between theAssociation and the <br />Department Head may be made, and when made shall continue until <br />revoked. <br /> <br />The PCEA may designate to the Personnel Officer, no more than two <br />representatives to discuss the grievances with their members. The <br />PCEA representatives shall be allowed reasonable time at the <br />beginning or end of an employee's normal duty period to discuss the <br />employee's grievance. This use of duty period time by either the <br />PCEA representative or the employee shall not unduly affect either <br />person's ability to complete their assigned duties. These time <br />limitations shall not be in effect during the conduct of formal <br />grievance hearings. <br /> <br />- 5 - <br /> <br /> <br />
