29.2 <br /> <br />29.3 <br /> <br />Ail employees receiving educational incentive pay on April 30, 1992 <br />shall continue to receive educational incentive pay. Any employee <br />as of April 30, 1992 who obtained an eligible degree prior to being <br />employed by the City of Pleasanton shall, upon reaching step E of <br />his/her classification's salary range, receive the appropriate <br />incentive pay percentage as cited above for said degree. <br /> <br />Tuition Reimbursement <br /> <br />Regular full time employees shall be eligible for reimbursement of <br />tuition expenses for college or university courses successfully <br />completed with a grade of "C" or better, provided said courses have <br />been approved in advance by the employee's Department Head and the. <br />Personnel Director and are taken from an educational institution <br />accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. <br /> <br />Tuition shall be reimbursed in the amount and at the rate for <br />internal degrees levied by Hayward State University in effect at <br />the time the employee enrolled in the courses for which tuition <br />reimbursement is requested. Employees completing courses from <br />colleges/university on a semester system shall be reimbursed at one <br />and one half (1-1/2) times the equivalent Hayward State University <br />quarter hour rate. <br /> <br />Requests for tuition reimbursement shall be submitted at the <br />completion of each quarter or semester and be accompanied by an <br />official receipt verifying the tuition amount and the tuition <br />payment, and an official transcript of grades. <br /> <br />BOok Reimbursement <br /> <br />Regular full time employees can be reimbursed for books required <br />for college/university courses approved by the department head and <br />personnel director and successfully completed with a grade of "C" <br />or better. Upon reimbursement, the books shall become the property <br />of the city. To the extent feasible, the books will be made <br />accessible to employees. The maximum reimbursement for books an <br />employee may receive shall not exceed $300.00 per fiscal year. To <br />be reimbursed, the employee must submit a receipt from the college <br />or university for the book purchase and an official transcript of <br />grades. <br /> <br />Section 20. Probationary Period <br /> <br />20.1 . <br /> <br />Lenqth of Probationary Period <br /> <br />Ail original and promotional appointments shall be tentative and <br />subject to a probationary period of twelve (12) months actual <br />service except that after serving a minimum of six months in a <br />probationary status following promotion, an employee whose <br />performance has been evaluated as exceptional based upon the <br />performance criteria enumerated in Section 6.4 may be removed from <br />probationary status. <br /> <br />- 23 - <br /> <br /> <br />
