Sect~O~ 8. Standby Time <br /> <br />Standby time is that amount of specific and predetermined time that <br />an employee is required to be on call in addition to the normal <br />work day and shall be compensated at a rate of pay equal to twenty <br />(20) hours of pay for each seven (7) day period spent on standby. <br />The hours of daily standby duty for water division employees and <br />sanitary sewer division employees shall be 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. <br />The requirement that employees in the classification of water <br />system operators and sanitary system operators work standby shall <br />be set forth in the job descriptions of such classifications. <br /> <br />Section 9. Police Clerk Traininq Pay <br /> <br />Police Clerks assigned responsibility to train new police clerks as <br />part of a formalized departmental training program shall be paid <br />the sum of eighty-five dollars ($85.00) for each complete and <br />continuous four week period spent training. For periods spent <br />training of less than or more than four continuous weeks, said <br />eight-five dollars ($85.0'0) payment shall be prorated on a daily <br />basis (to the nearest whole work day). <br /> <br />Section 10. Holidays <br /> <br />10.1 <br /> <br />ObaeFved Holidays <br /> <br />Effective March 1, 1988 the holidays to be observed are as follows: <br /> <br />me <br /> <br />he <br /> <br />January 1st. <br />The third Monday in January known as "Martin Luther King Day" <br />The third Monday in February, known as "Washington Day". <br />The last Monday in May known as "Memorial Day". <br />July 4th. <br />The first Monday in September known as "Labor Day" <br />The eleventh day of the eleventh month, known as "Veterans <br />Day". <br />Thanksgiving Day. <br />The Friday following Thanksgiving Day. <br />Christmas Eve Day. <br />December 25th. <br /> <br />10.2 <br /> <br />Floatin~ Holidays <br /> <br />Three (3) floating holidays shall be credited to each employee <br />each year to be observed on a date mutually agreed to by the <br />individual employee and the Department Head or the Department <br />Head's designee. Such floating holidays shall be scheduled in <br />advance of the observance of such floating holiday and once <br />scheduled may not be changed unless mutually agreed to by the <br />employee and the Department Head or his/her designee. Floating <br />holidays shall be taken in the calendar year in which they are <br />credited. <br /> <br />- 10 - <br /> <br /> <br />
