."
and was informed by Ms. Baer that it appeared Livermore was going to fund the project. Funds from the.
City of Dublin had also been committed dependent on participation by the other cities.

Commissioner Hedstrom questioned whether this was going to be a one-time project, and was advised by
Ms. Baer that it would depend on the success of the endeavor. Ms. Baer also informed Commissioner
McLane that San Ramon and Danville had been invited to participate, but declined.

Commissioner Gerton-Rivara agreed with Commissioner Scotto's comments about getting a "big bang"
for the amount invested in the project and felt it would provide art that could be viewed by many;
however, she was also concerned about soliciting for the remaining funds needed.

Mr. Inderbitzen talked about the importance of bringing public art to the local communities. He didn't
believe there was any good time to raise funds, but believes it could be done for this project and be a
benefit for all three cities. Mr. Inderbitzen also indicated that he would be willing to present the project
and fundraising efforts to the City of Pleasanton, if the Commission believed that would be necessary.

Mr. Inderbitzen discussed with the Commission the comparisons between the "Dublin Does Art" project
and this proposed "Art Takes Place" project.

Commissioner Scotto advised that representatives from school districts in the cities of Dublin, Livermore,
and Pleasanton would be meeting on June 6th to discuss Art Education. She discussed with Mr.
Inderbitzen possible corporate input with regard to funding for the project.

Commissioner McLane confirmed with Mr. Inderbitzen that community members would not be required
to pay a fee to view any of the artwork. She also discussed with Ms. Baer the proposed budget for the
book that would be a part of the project.

Mr. Jorgensen suggested that he, Commissioners Scotto and Seebach and Ms. Baer and Mr. Inderbitzen,
meet with representatives from the other cities to discuss the project and gain additional information. He
would then report back to the Commission at the July meeting.

Mr. Inderbitzen agreed with Mr. Jorgensen's recommendation, but requested that the Commission indicate
if there is consensus to move forward with the project. He wanted to be able to convey to the City of
Dublin that there was a level of comfort from Pleasanton with regard to moving forward.

Commissioner Seebach indicated he was in favor of the project, but had concerns with selling the idea to
the City Council.

Commissioner McLane was also in favor of the project, but felt more time was needed to make a final
commitment.

Commissioner Molz liked the proposed project, but would like to see it integrated with Pleasanton's
Public Art Master Plan. She also had concems with how this would affect Commissioner Seebach's
proposal for a "Temporary Art" project.

Civic Arts Commission Minutes
June 5, 2006
Page 4
