<br />...... <br /> <br /> <br />4D <br /> <br />'- <br /> <br />pLEASANTONc <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />October 3, 2006 <br />Parks and Community Services <br /> <br />SUBJECT <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE TRAILS AD HOC <br />COMMITTEE <br /> <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />That the City Council approve the appointment of William (Jeft) Durbin, <br />Joe Jones, Herb Ritter and Mike Sedlak to the Trails Ad Hoc Committee. <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff concurs with the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission. <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />In January 2006, the City Council approved term limits for members of the <br />Trails Ad Hoc Committee (an advisory body to the Parks and Recreation <br />Commission). An Alternate member position was also added at that time. <br />Terms are now expiring for three (3) Committee members, leaving four <br />positions to be filled. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On January 3, 2006, the City Council approved term limits for members of the Trails Ad Hoc <br />Committee. This included 3-year terms for the Regional Trails representative, and two (2) <br />Community-at-Large representatives. The terms for these three (3) members are now expiring. <br />The Council agreed to a maximum of six (6) years on the Committee, with the exception of one <br />(I) Community-at-Large member and the Non-motorized Transportation representative, which <br />could serve a total of seven (7) years (to provide for an overlap in terms).
