Resolution No. 92-51 Page Two WHEREAS, Section 5014.5 of the Elections Code sets forth the procedures for rebuttal arguments. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTONRESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1: That the City Council sponsored initiative proposinq that the General Plan of the City of Pleasanton be amended regarding the Pleasanton Ridgelands be placed on the ballot for the June 2, 1992 Primary Election, a copy of which Initiative Ordinance is attached to this resolution. The measure shall be designated by letter by the County of Alameda. Section 2: The ballot language shall be as follows: "Shall the General Plan of the City of Pleasanton--~- amended by adopting the Pleasanton Ridgelands Plan, which provides a mechanism to permanently retain the undeveloped ridges above Pleasanton and provide, as economically feasible, open space on approximately 80% of the area for the creation of publicly-accessible parkland trails and other recreational facilities? The plan would permit, in areas not visible from Pleasanton but withi~ the 7100 acres of the Ridgelands, absolutely no more than 2,640 residential units with associated neighborhood- serving retail for the purpose of generating the funds necessary to finance public acquisition of these open areas at no additional cost to existing taxpayers. YES NO Section 3: The City Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of the initiative to the City Attorney to prepare an impartial analysis to be placed on the ballot. Section 4: The City Council requests arguments for and against the initiative to be filed by the Pleasanton Ridgelands Committee. Said arguments must be submitted to the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. on March 9, 1992. Section 5: The City Council hereby adopts the procedures set forth in Sections 5014.5 of the Elections Code regarding submission of rebuttal arguments.
