Approve consultant contract with Illingworth & Rodkin, Inc. Acoustical <br />consultants, for services related to the preparation of a Noise Element <br />Background Report for the General Plan <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached agreement. <br />3. Authorize the City Manager to amend the contract by up to 10 percent of <br />the total cost as a contingency for services not described within the <br />current scope of work. <br />4. Authorize transfer of funds from the contingency to the General Plan <br />fund if necessary to cover the contingency work described in 3. <br /> <br />Following the evaluation of responses to a Request for Proposal issued by <br />the City in May 2006, staff has successfully negotiated an agreement with <br />Illingworth & Rodkin, Inc, Acoustical Consultants. Under the terms of its <br />agreement, Illingworth & Rodkin, Inc. would conduct a noise monitoring <br />program, prepare a noise study and noise exposure contours, and would <br />provide assistance in updating the goals and policies of the Noise Element of <br />the General Plan, for a total cost of $29,270. Staff is also requesting <br />authority for the City Manager to amend the contract to increase the total <br />contract cost by IO percent as a contingency to cover any necessary services <br />not described within the scope of work. <br /> <br />Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council: <br /> <br />SR 06:199 <br />Page I of2 <br />
