The recommended plan would preserve right-of-way for a four-lane
roadway from Stoneridge Drive to Muirwood Drive South (through
dedication as development occurs), but it would construct an
· - interim solution matched to the peculiar circumstances in this
" area: an essentially two-lane section at the Kliment area to
minimize short-termdisruption of existing properties, a three-lane
section elsewhere with the permanent median installed. This plan
establishes the essential safety and landscaping features while
minimizing roadway width, grading, tree loss, and intrusion on
residents'.homes. The plan would allow relatively simple addition
of the one additional southbound lane if it were ever desired, and
the widening for two southbound lanes plus median in the Kliment
area could be done if it were ever desired without modifying the
two-lane section established originally. Southerly of Muirwood
Drive South, the recommendation is for the narrower three-lane
section. This section should be satisfactory, once developed,
unless traffic volumes grow beyond projections and additional lanes
are desired in the future. This section will require significant
tree loss in the Puri Court area, but this is unavoidable if bike
lanes/disabled vehicle lanes and a left-turn lane area are provided
(and staff believes both are necessary here).

Staff recommends you adopt the alignment plan by taking the actions
listed in the summary section.

Respectfully submitted,

· ,.- ./
' ,'. ;-: ,.
