ThLs section will be called the South Livermore Valley Plan for the purposes of this
document.

The following proposal is intended to serve as a guide for agricultural preservation programs and
land-use policies to be incorporated in the Plan. It is based in part on the 1989 South Livermore
Valley Study prepared by Livingston and Associates; elements of the recent Crane Ridge and Ruby
Hills development proposals; and the advice and recommendations of the Citizens Advisory
Committee.

Plan Area

The South Livermore Valley Plan study area shall encompass the 14,570 acre Vineyard Area, plus
two designated Vineyard Area gateways totaLling approximately 1,180 acres:

1. LivCrm0re Gateway: 665 acres east of Livermore between Cn'eenville Road and the South
Bay Aqueduct extending from the Vineyard Area to the 1-580 freeway.

2. Pleasanton Gateway: 514 acre~ west of Ruby Hill along Vineyard Avenue to the Pleasanton
city limits. (This includes .~maller parcels along Vineyard Avenue which were included in the
original Livington study.)

In the Livingston study, the Vineyard Area was originally e~timatecl at 15,550 acres. This acreage has
been reduced due to annexations to the City of Livermore, and redesignation of land near Pleasanton
as gateway area.
