Award a construction contract to the firm of BBI Construction in the <br />amount $3,780,146; <br /> <br />2. Approve $25,000 for specialty inspections; <br /> <br />3. Approve a project contingency in the amount of $210,000 (5%) to be <br />used for unexpected project costs; <br /> <br />4. Authorize the transfer of $300,000 from the Replacement Reserve <br />and $224,759 from the CIPR to meet project costs; and <br /> <br />5. Authorize the City Manager to execute the contracts for this project. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Staff has negotiated a construction agreement for the renovation of the <br />Veterans Memorial Building on Main Street. This action approves the <br />contract and authorizes the start of construction. The project involves: <br /> <br />Seismic upgrades <br />Accessibility upgrades including new ramps to the main entries, new <br />accessible toilet rooms and a wheelchair lift at the stage <br />New fire sprinkler system <br />Refurbishing of the existing alarm system <br /> <br />SR 06:151 <br />Page I <br />
