AND BEYAZ & PATEL, INC. TO CONDUCT <br />FEASIBILITY STUDIES TO REPAIR THE CITY'S MCCLOUD <br />WATER TANK, PROJECT NO. 051023 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />SR 06:163 <br />Page 1 of 4 <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of July 18, 2006: <br /> <br />1. Approve two consulting contracts for a total amount not-to-exceed <br />$51,754.00; $21,954.00 with TJC & Associates, Inc. and $29,800.00 <br />with Beyaz & Patel, to provide consultant services for determining <br />alternatives to rehabilitation or replacement of the McCloud water tank. <br /> <br />2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached contracts. <br /> <br />3. Authorize the Director of Public Works to execute contract <br />amendments up to 10% of the contract amounts. <br /> <br />The subject project consists of structurally and seismically evaluating the <br />existing McCloud Water Tank, a 2.0 million gallon (MG) reinforced <br />concrete water tank located on the southeast side of the City, south of <br />Kottinger Drive and east of Bevilacqua Court. The two contracts focus on <br />different approaches to determine alternatives to either rehabilitate or <br />replace the existing tank. TJC & Associates of Rancho Cordova and Beyaz <br />& Patel of Walnut Creek have proposed to provide these services utilizing <br />two different and separate approaches for a total (combined) cost not-to- <br />exceed $51,754.00. Both ftrrns are locally respected and recognized for <br />their technical abilities and expertise in the analysis and recommendations <br />regarding older concrete water and wastewater storage facilities. <br />
