The first item is sponsorship of the Technology Showcase developed and presented by the Chamber of Commerce. The second item is a potential contribution for the Pleasanton Downtown Association that has not been fully developed. Technolo~Y Showcase The Chamber has requested that the City again be one of several sponsors for the Technology Conference. Last year the City contributed $20,000 to this event and the Chamber ultimately reimbursed the City (although the funding was not conditioned on reimbursement). This year the Chamber has requested anon-reimburseable $10,000 sponsorship. Staff recommends that the Council sponsor this event as part of our on-going economic vitality efforts. The money has been included in the budget. Downtown Association The Executive Director of the Downtown Association and staff have been discussing several activities the Downtown Association might provide for the City for payment. We have not yet reached a conclusion and agreement at this time, but have included $25,000 in the budget to cover this expense if agreements can be reached.
