NOW, THEREFOE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1.: The Police Chief shall conduct an investigation of all persons involved in the sale <br /> of firearms and all persons who process the forms required by the state or federal <br /> govemment for the sale of firearms (e.g., the Dealer Record of Sale CDROS") and <br /> the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Fireanns Transaction Record Form 4473 <br /> ("Form 4473")); a person "handles firearms" who displays, shows, or sells a <br /> fireann to a customer. <br /> <br />Section 2: The Police Chief is not required to conduct an investigation of persons who solely <br /> discuss firearms with customers, but do not handle firearms or process the forms <br /> required by the state or federal government for the sale of firearms (e.g., the DROS <br /> and Form 4473). <br /> <br />Section 3: If an applicant's investigation reveals that one of the conditions enumerated in <br /> Chapter 6.64 for denial or revocation of a permit exist, the permit shall be denied <br /> or revoked. <br /> <br />Section 4: If the investigation of any person involved in the sale of firearms, other than the <br /> applicant, reveals that one of the conditions enumerated for denial or revocation of <br /> a permit exist, the applicant shall be notified that the person investigated has not <br /> successfully completed the investigation and said person shall not be permitted to <br /> be involved in the sale of firearms. <br /> <br />Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br /> I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THE FOREGOING WAS DULY AND <br />REGULARLY ADOPTED BY lIE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON, AT <br />A MEETING HELD ON JUNE 1, 1999 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: <br />NOES: <br />ABSENT: <br />ABSTAIN: ATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED AS TO FORM: <br />Michael H.
