NOW, THEREFOE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Section 1.: The Police Chief shall conduct an investigation of all persons involved in the sale of firearms and all persons who process the forms required by the state or federal govemment for the sale of firearms (e.g., the Dealer Record of Sale CDROS") and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Fireanns Transaction Record Form 4473 ("Form 4473")); a person "handles firearms" who displays, shows, or sells a fireann to a customer. Section 2: The Police Chief is not required to conduct an investigation of persons who solely discuss firearms with customers, but do not handle firearms or process the forms required by the state or federal government for the sale of firearms (e.g., the DROS and Form 4473). Section 3: If an applicant's investigation reveals that one of the conditions enumerated in Chapter 6.64 for denial or revocation of a permit exist, the permit shall be denied or revoked. Section 4: If the investigation of any person involved in the sale of firearms, other than the applicant, reveals that one of the conditions enumerated for denial or revocation of a permit exist, the applicant shall be notified that the person investigated has not successfully completed the investigation and said person shall not be permitted to be involved in the sale of firearms. Section 5: This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
