<br />RELATIONSHIP OF THE MASTER PLAN TO OTHER <br />PLEASANTON PLANNING DOCUMENTS <br /> <br />Four primary City planning documents are directly <br />relevant to this Master Plan: the Bernal Property Phase I <br />and II Specific Plans, the Phase One Community Park <br />Baseball Fields PUD, and the Environmental Impact Report <br />(EIR) for the Bernal Property Phase II SpeCific Plan and <br />Master Plan for the Bernal Community Park. The speCific <br />relevance of each document is summarized below. <br /> <br />1. Bernal Pronertv (Phase Il Snecific Plan. dated <br />AUl!:ust 21. 2000 <br /> <br />The Bernal Property Phase I Specific Plan pertains <br />soecificallv to the 198-acre "private <br />development" portion of the greater 516-acre <br />Bernal Property, and more generallv to the entire <br />516-acre site. Phase I calls for a "30-50 acre <br />Community Park within the central area, <br />designed for active use and lighted sports <br />fields." The Phase I Plan text further includes the <br />following policy guidance regarding the <br />Community Park: <br /> <br />"The Community Park should incorporate the <br />mitigation measures described in the EIR <br />(Phase I SpeCific Plan) as it develops, <br />including addressing potential impacts on <br />adjoining uses. When determining the <br />location of the Community Park, attention <br />should also be given to the potential future <br />Phase II uses which may have particular <br />locational and/or adjacency requirements in <br />order to retain the possible accommodation <br />of these future uses in the Phase II planning <br />of the site. <br /> <br />The components of the Park shall be <br />determined using the comprehensive public <br />process and, in particular, shall be consistent <br />with the Land Use and Visual Resources <br />objectives of this (Phase I Specific) Plan. <br /> <br />The Community Park shall <br />neighborhood park facilities." <br /> <br />include <br /> <br />Since a "specific plan" is defined by the State as <br />an extension of the general plan, all related City <br />plans and other documents must comply with <br />speCific plan provisions.
