In
order to apply for public assistance from the Office of Emergency
Services, Pleasanton needs to adopt a resolution designating an
" Authorized Agent." Staff recommends that the City Manager and
Assistant City Manager be designated as the "Authorized Agent" for this
possible declaration and in preparation of future declarations.

Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council:

BACKGROUND

As a result of the spring floods of 2006, a section of the Arroyo Mocho storm channel bank
failed in the area of Sanitary Sewer Pump Station #6 (S-6). S-6 is located near the northeast
intersection of the Arroyo Mocho and the Arroyo de la Laguna (i.e., Interstate 680 and West
Las Positas). The channel bank failure necessitated emergency repairs and bank stabilization to
protect S-6 and the sewer main that crosses under the stream bed.
