Mitigation Measure 4.4-4 shall be implemented to reduce impacts on California red-legged frog
habitat.

SIGNIFICANT EFFECT

Impact 4.4-6: California Tiger Salamander. Implementation of the proposed project could result in
the loss of suitable upland habitat for the California tiger salamander. The loss of potential tiger
salamander habitat would be considered a potentially significant impact.

Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project which mitigate or avoid
the significant effects on the environment.

Facts in Support of Finding

The City of Pleasanton has adopted the following measures which will reduce potential biological
resource impacts to a less-than-significant level:

Mitigation Measure 4.4-6: California Tiger Salamander
All grading plans will include a minimum 100-foot setback from suitable California tiger
salamander breeding habitat (i.e., seasonal ponds) that is not identified for development in the
Specific Plan. (Mitigation Measure 4.4-4 identifies all wetlands that would be disturbed with site
development and Exhibit 4.4-1 identifies the seasonal ponds on the project site.)

For the upland habitat of the California tiger salamander that would be removed with
development of the proposed project, an equivalent amount of upland habitat would be preserved
within the Plan Area. Suitable tiger salamander habitat in the Plan Area includes all areas
identified as blue oak woodland or annual grassland. The preserved habitat shall consist entirely
of blue oak woodland or annual grassland habitat. All preserved habitat shall be managed and
protected, in perpetuity, as natural habitat.

Mitigation Measure 4.4-4 shall be implemented to reduce impacts on California tiger salamander
habitat.

SIGNIFICANT EFFECT

Impact 4.4-8: AF.~. Implementation of the proposed project could adversely affect
riparian habitat along the Arroyo del Valle. Riparian habitat is of special concern to CDFG,
USFWS, and other resources agencies. This would be considered a potentially significant
impact.

Changes or alterations have been required in, or incorporated into, the project which mitigate or avoid
the significant effects on the environment.

Facts in Support of Finding

The City of Pleasanton has adopted the following measures which will reduce potential biological
resource impacts to a less-than-significant level:

Vineyard Avenue Corridor Specific Plan Draft EIR -17- Findings
