Aggregate an array of high quality <br />community facilities that serve the entire Pleasanton community while respecting the sensitivities <br />of both the natural and developed lands. <br /> <br />Guidelines: <br /> <br />1.1 High priority community facilities should be developed that reflect the heritage <br />of the Valley and the cultural richness of the community. <br /> <br />A variety of uses and high quality facilities should be developed that will be <br />attractive to all members of the community. <br /> <br />The heritage of the Valley and cultural richness of the community should be <br />integrated into individual projects. <br /> <br />The high visibility of and easy access to Bernal Avenue and Valley Avenue <br />should be utilized to create recognizable, easily accessible facilities. <br /> <br />1.2 Community use and facility planning should be environmentally and <br />fiscally responsible. <br /> <br />Land uses should respect the natural environmental features of the site and, <br />where feasible, seek to enhance them. <br /> <br />Development of facilities should take into account long-term maintenance <br />requirement needs. <br /> <br />Facilities should be planned to minimize long-term maintenance needs, <br />subject to the fiscal constraints of actual construction. <br /> <br />1.3 Facilities should be planned for both short- and long-term use. <br /> <br />Flexibility and shared use of building space, parking and other appropriate <br />facilities should be planned to maximize the efficient use of buildings and <br />land and meet the changing community needs. <br /> <br />12B <br /> <br />Land Use Element <br />
